Special edition wood products from Loyalist Forest

Flitch Cut Hardwood Lumber
	Once in a while, we encounter a log of such apparent quality and dimensions that we purposely pattern saw large flitches that feature live edges (with the bark on). This thick stock hardwood lumber is air dried for an extended period of time before kiln drying – leaving it time to acclimatize and reduce moisture content at a slow rate. All hardwood lumber is inspected after sawing, again after kiln drying, and finally at the point the order is picked for shipment. Packaged with care and promptly shipped to locations across North America, we service the retail, commercial and industrial wood industry. From 2 to 200,000 board feet, we can provide you with a lumber supply solution.

Spalted Lumber
Spalting, or the coloration of wood by fungi, is a common naturally occurring phenomenon that occurs as fungi invades wood and initiates the decay process. This process creates unique coloration and patterns in the wood, a result that is highly desired by the wood industry. Clear White Cedar Canoe Lumber
Few people understand how rare long, clear pieces of white cedar lumber are – less than 1% of the white cedar lumber we saw is acceptable to be graded as ‘clear’. Our quality standards for clarity and consistency in grain patterns are reflective of the same high standards of our customers. Often used for building hand crafted cedar strip canoes, Loyalist Forest’s special clear white cedar stock item is prized by craftsmen across North America.
	Clear Eastern White Cedar is available from Loyalist Forest in sizes ranging from 1x2 up to 2x6 in lengths up to 16 feet long. Shorts and other custom dimensions can be cut to suit your individual requirements. It starts with the perfect log with a diameter that allows us to saw out a block that’s free of heart.
	Seasoned for many months, we allow the moisture to gently leave the wood naturally, resulting in very stable stock with minimal checking ready for that special woodworking or wood carving project.
