Loyalist Forest; A long history of conservation and sustainability

Loyalist Forest is a family owned, fully integrated value added wood products company with over 4,000 acres of sustainable timberlands under our care and management. With parts of our forestland under continual stewardship since the mid 1800's, we have been growing our own future in the form of quality forest products; simultaneously preserving the natural habitat of countless wildlife species.

sustainability

Welcome to Loyalist Forest, a sustainable timberland and forest product operation.

For many generations, this land has been stewarded by our family. We have invested care and responsibile decision making processes to ensure that it thrives and grows for generations to come.

A forest is more than just trees. It is an ecosystem, interconnected and interdependant. The effects of forest health have a direct and often immediate impact on the wildlife and watershed.

The many benefits of using wood grown and harvested in Canada stems primarily from the renewable nature of our forests. To grow a pound of wood, a tree consumes about 0.67 kilograms of carbon dioxide and releases approximately 0.46 kilograms of oxygen. Realistically, an acre of trees could be expected to grow 1800 kilograms of wood per year. In the process, 2600 kilograms of carbon dioxide would be consumed, and 1900 pounds of oxygen would be produced.

The world is watching – and it likes what it sees. Canada is building a wood culture, where the world sees us as leaders in building with wood, where we produce competitive products and building systems and where we embrace wood as our first choice and best value building material. Best of all, we do all of that as part of our stewardship of vibrant, healthy sustainable forests.
