Our quality standards require sound, tight knots, straight boards, uniform thicknesses, and a maximum wane allowance of 5% of the length of one side. Lumber is machine planed to a smooth surface, precision trimmed to length, and eased edge (rounded corners).

Sometimes known as Northern White Cedar and Eastern White Cedar, the sapwood of white cedar is thin and white, while the heartwood is a light brown. Loyalist Forest manufactures and markets Eastern White Cedar paneling that is far superior to that which you purchase from the “big box” stores; for example our actual dimension of a 1x4 is 3/4" x 3 ½". Special ordered lumber is available in custom sizes that you can’t find from the conventional lumber retailers, such as 4x6 and 5x5.
